gothic 3

Another new monster that will rape my geforce 7900gt to the core. The R600 from AMD and ATI. There is good news and bad news.Lets start with the good news, It has 16 ROP, while i has 24.Now bad newsES.It has 64 stream processors compared to the current flagship with G80GTX which have 128.But theres a catch.R600 can do 4 shader per clock.Which make it effectively having virtually 256 stream processors.Next, its has a 512 bit physical VRam controller and 1024bit internal ring bus memory controller(WTF??!!). My g70 has a 256 bit memory giving me 45gb/sec bandwidth, g80 gives 86bb/sec.But a 512 bit memory gives 140gb/sec!! Imagine ,256 SPs supplyed with 140gb/sec of data to fuck up your screen with high definition Dx10 gaming. Not to forget of possibility to add a second card to end the lonely R600 boredom, no wonder pcie 2.0 is rolling out soon. These new gen gpu will suck up all of pcie 16x bandwidth.
For now, the best Dx9c games are rolling out 1 by 1 before Dx10 games appear a year later.Below are the screenie of gothic 3, a rpg game that could rival oblivion in gpu technology.Since it is new, it is still currently full of bugs, and the overbright effect doesnt seems to be hdr. I am running it at 16x12 resolution. I disabled depth of field,it makes distance object blurish making it looks like some low res texture produce by low end system, worst it hits my fps real bad.
