The world's first glimpse of the upcoming Unreal 3 engine as a game.A very much incomplete version is used, which doesnt seems to have hdr and the texture isnt anywhere near UT2007.However, it is the first game featuring a useful depth of field compared to gothic 3.In gothic 3, it looks kinda pixelated and even relatively close objects are blurred. Here, the blur is much lesser, more realistic and even remove jaggies. There are some nice overbright effects, but the light intensity doesnt change accordingly due to viewing angle, so i presume it is bloom effect only.FaceFX is non existence since there isnt a single fucking homosapien in it.Ageia physicX is used, i am using the software emulated version since i think is a total waste of money to purchase a physic card run on a 15 year old socket, call PCI offering a pathetic 133mb/sec bandwidth at an ancient 33mhz.Few games support it, performance is kinda bad and the price is off the chart.Using the software emulated,i dun see Ageia physics any better than half life 2 havok physics.Seriously,if fabric physics or "caculate every debris fly/deform/disintegrete/hit your head when a nuke hits singapore" caculations ever takes off faster than introduction of consumer 500Gflop cpu.I rather go for a gpus with physics caculation setup which at least can do other things than doing physics and uses new faster interconnections.
This game is rather retarded doing lots of physics puzzles that is more boring and "insult to intelligence" than HL2.If u have a decent graphics card, have nothing better to do and curious how unreal 3 engine looks like give it a try.Since its in a super compact 200mb compared to 8gb games now a days. And well, u play another gordon here just that it has a metal dick...
