C&C3:Kane wrath review

Overall-7/10

Gameplay-6/10
Good
-used and proved formula since 10 years ago
-2 new sub faction every race
-conquest mode
-wrap up some cliffhingers from previous games in campaign
Fugly
-no innovation at all
-unbalance units introduced
-crashes during campaign
-campaign have no consistency, spanning years apart...
-new subfactions dont provide distinct play styles from their parent

Visuals-7/10
Good
-generally sharp texture and flashy explosions
Fugly
-an aging engine
-some waypoint issues with large amount of units

The RTS scene have changed tremendously since C&C3 is released. With blockbusters like world in conflict and sins of solar empire, C&C3 is shadowed by their success in no time. Not only in terms of gameplay but visually too.
But as any RTS out in the market, especially EA as the publisher, expansion is sure to come.6 new subfaction,3 end game pwnzor units,15 campaign and a new game mode call conquest, sounds like lots to digest and pwns DOW:soulstorm to oblivion. But interest wear thin quick due to the relatively unchanged gameplay, unbalance units and crashes.
Really hard to reccommend to the any other than diehard C&C fanatic or kane worshipper.Included in the package is red alert3 beta keys too, a cheap marketing tatic imo but well, its EA....As any C&C fan out there,i hope that c&c engine will be upgraded tremendously and innovative gameplay in the upcoming red alert 3.
