Finally a DLC that isnt about new armors or characters. However bioware decides they deserve some cash for this, so if you are expecting another free DLC, you are out of luck.
After purchase, you will have a mail send by Illusion man about a research facility went offline. You get to play this DLC even after completing the whole campaign. But i unfortunately got quite a number of team mates killed in the final epic battle, so i have very limited in choices on selecting squad members. Sci fi drama quickly ramp up from there regarding AI experiment went rogue, killing everyone. Sounds TOO familiar? But i assure it does come with some plot twist of its own that make it worth while.
Its a DLC not a expansion so the game mechanic is obviously the standard ME2 affair, with a welcomed addition, vehicles. Instead of that 6 wheel jumping exploration vehicle, cereberus has enough funds to give you a hovercraft for a spin. You get to jump, accelerate and fire missles around a huge area of grassland, and have some fun knocking down indigenous animals. Afterwhich, you will be treated with super mario style platforming on a lava lake. Since the sequence is short, it doesnt suffer from extended exploration from the previous ME1 that bores the hell out of you. However, with ME2 not tailored for vehicles from ground up, the visual engine lags behind the demands. Low res texture, poor draw distance and your hover craft clipping into the ground makes the experience less desirable. But dont get me wrong, its a welcomed features that many thinks ME2 sorely lacks.
In terms of enemies that will engage you, prepare to be disappointed. Excluding the final boss, all you face is all the exotic varieties of geths throughout the whole game. And the last time i checked, geths loves to mass produce only a few variants of multi purpose robots. Consider that i dont particularly find geths interesting since the first ME, this is a pain in the ass. However your pain will only last for approximately 1 hour. This DLC is VERY SHORT but the production quality is there, so its up to you to determine what its worth.
Stop! I want to enjoy the scenery alittle longer...

attack of the geths

I m so excited, i finally get to shoot something else!
