Look! Another P2W game!
Hi guys, girls and anything in between,
F2P peasant here. Below is the game guide gathered from my game play thus far.
As with all P2W game, start the game early. The global release of this game is early Decemember, making now a good time to jump in and start grinding. Its too early to tell if we can stay competitive with the low spenders but no harm trying since the game looks really gorgeous and I got bored with the severely unbalanced Clash of Lords 2.
Built/Upgrade order
Gold mine
No brainer since you are always out of gold as a peasant. I choose gold over food as it allows you to upgrade building, improving your pathetic economy. Can be used to buy spells.
Farm
Produce food for your army to pillage resources from other players. Also used to upgrade your army.
Gold reserve
Protect your gold from other players.
Food reserve
Protect your food from other players.
Army camp
Increase the size of your army in deployment and storage. This is what really power up your combat power in a significant way, both in defensive and offensive.
Medical School
Save food by making your units less like a soccer player. Units in this game disband the moment they get hit by a paper plane on the head. Medical school prevents that to a certain extend.
Garrison
Protect your gold, food and women from other players more effectively. With a fully upgraded Garrison permitted, stacking your existing army and a Titan will allow you to successfully defend your castle effectively against anyone that is your level.
Armory
Allow upgrade of your units. Upgrade your units only when you are swimming in food, as upgrading your units makes them more expensive to train subsequently.
Unit builders (Barracks etc.)
Allows you to build more variety of units.
Gold Vault
Increase your gold storage.
Granary
Increase your food storage.
Spell builders (Spell forge etc.)
Not a priority for me since you can get spells from drops and they are too expensive for their 1 time use nature.
Castle
That's right. Stay in your slum till everything else is upgraded or built. This will allow you have a well balanced army and economy when you upgrade your castle to the next level.
Land
Your castle is on a floating piece of land that can capture more land from either neutral territory or other players.
Before you are allowed to join the alliance, you need 1000 Victory Points. Capture lands that provide VP early game to pursue that endeavor in the fastest way possible. Joining an alliance yields you 500 jewel, allowing you to buy the 2nd builder.
Once you join an alliance, destroy all the VP land and capture gold land instead. You can have a couple of food land as well, my current ratio is 3:1 since I prioritize gold more.
You can spend 350 jewels to buy a new land slot but only if you have build the second builder.
Do not buy more land slot than you can defend, otherwise you will be bleeding resource from attacks. That means having sufficient army size and titans.
Do not bother upgrading the lands, just hunt for an upgrade and steal it.
After reaching the higher leagues and leveled beyond 10, keep low level lands so that other players no longer have incentive to raid your land.
Jewel
As with all P2W, do your daily quest.
Your single biggest free jewel come from joining alliance, so do it ASAP.
There's a 5 minutes free skipping of building construction. Take advantage of it early game but almost useless after level 5.
Spend your first 1500 jewel on a second builder. I don't see a need for anything more than 2 as you will never have enough gold to keep up anyway.
Spend 350 jewel on new land slot whenever you have the defensive capacity.
Titan
Clash of Lord 2 style pachinko machine to obtain the titan that is sure to burn a big hole from the P2W aristocrat's wallet.
Always use and concentrate on your best titan. That will most likely be the free summon given at the start of the game. I got a pathetic 2 star but its unlikely you will see another 2 star till you are level 6. Titan can be obtained by drops during battle.
If the divine god of RNG bestow upon thee 72 virgin goats and you receive a 3 star and above titan, do not fuse away your old flagship titan. Keep them around for defensive purpose.
Equip relics on your defensive titan and only equip on your offensive titan when you foresee a tough battle ahead.
Swap your main titan to your castle defense before you go to sleep to strengthen your defense. If you are a hardworking nigger, you can do that every time you stop playing.
Strategy
Always use titan to tank as often as possible since in this universe, your whole squadron of unit disband once its life dip below certain threshold of health. I got lucky and got a 2 star paladin for my first free summon that excelled in tanking.
Always fully upgrade your range units, they are your main dps while your titan is tanking.
Army composition is to have 1 type each of melee class to counter different scenario, the rest should be range units or none at all. You can continue to only bring 3 units out to minimize your losses due to challenging placement of enemies.
Use the melee class when there are flanking units that your titan can't tank. Try not to get those range units injured as they get extremely expensive once upgraded. If fighting a huge army, you may have to add more melee to tank more effectively but I rarely goes beyond 3 melee units.
For campaign above strategy usually do not hold due to the variety of win scenario, so go out and trial and error!
Unit Type
Militia
Fast but weak
Good for countering range units
Good for flanking
Don't bring more than 1 of this unit for assault or defense
Archers
Earliest long range unit available that is relatively cheap (compared to others)
Decent damage
Must be protected to prevent getting stuck in melee and die
Bulk of your assault team
Spearman
Cheap and good tank
First to send out to intercept enemy units if your titan cant intercept
Good counter against Militia
Generally bulk of your assault
Grenadiers
Fire damage long range artillery with insane damage and AOE
Personal favourite to micro them to target clusters of units for maximum effect
Expensive to build
Must be protected to prevent getting stuck in melee and die
Must have as defenders but I dont bring more than 1 during offensive battle due to the risk of losing them. Brought during critical and challenging offensive battles that yield sufficient resources to be worth the risk.
Pikeman
Upgraded version of spearman that does ice damange
Expensive to build
Must have as defenders but I dont bring more than 1 during offensive battle due to the risk of losing them. Brought during critical and challenging offensive battles that yield sufficient resources to be worth the risk.
Goliaths
Upgraded version of spearman and pikeman that does earth damage
Expensive to build
Must have as defenders but I dont bring more than 1 during offensive battle due to the risk of losing them. Brought during critical and challenging offensive battles that yield sufficient resources to be worth the risk.
Panthers
Upgraded version of militia
Expensive to build
Must have as defenders but I dont bring more than 1 during offensive battle due to the risk of losing them. Brought during critical and challenging offensive battles that yield sufficient resources to be worth the risk.
This guide will be updated as I continue my journey to equality. #F2PPlayerLivesMatter
