"OMG this is DOTA" will be the first thing u say when u play the maiden run.But as the game continues, you will realize the game mechanic is deeper than you first thought.
Although there is only 8 demigods and maps, every demigod can be spec in to different builts for different game style. Equip with the right items, 2 same hero may plays out entirely differently.Minion are spawned by portals and can be captured.The minions can be upgraded in terms of armor or damage, so can better units be called in.All this is done by paying gold making you think twice before splurging all your gold on your demigod armor only. This is only the tip of the iceberg as many other things from more tower HP to more exp for all demigod on the team can be purchased.With the right upgrades, it could have more significant impact than the meanest badass item in the game can provide.Of course, it boils down to the selfish question.Who among the 5 in a team would need to pay for the upgrades.And how the fuck would you get money to upgrade if you are badly geared and cant kill opposing demigod at all.With several game modes like conquest or domination having different objective to win the game, these really spices up the game.
Since this game as its core is based on DOTA, multiplayer is where it belongs.But the battlefield2 saga is back again.With day0 patches and frustrating netcode issues, gamers need to rely on 3rd party programs like hamachi and gameranger on the first few days of release to enjoy a decent online match.But unlike EA games, which ignores you and take their own sweet time to fix the problem after they get your money, Stardocks have excellent PR that updates the community on the problem and patches are gradually fixing the problem within weeks.But it is inexcusable to release games in such state, and have tarnished this excellent game with a bad start.
