A short, satisfing and cheap DLC is probably the best desciption.
This DLC introduced a entirely new game area linked by various other area but with only one spawn point makes you think twice before quiting the game because you will end up far far away from yor quest area when you get back in.The gameplay is pushed forward by a story about Dr Zed brother, Dr Ned creating zombies for recreation purpose and you are obviously suppose to stop him.The game throws huge horde of seemingly slow lumdering zombies but they have various abilities that can bring you down quickly. The most basic, slowest zombie can spit goo to slow you down and blur your vision if you tries to escape which is a real pain in the ass if you wants to fall back when you get over run. To make your trip more pleasant in this infected swarmp, there are Boomer like zombie which keep spamming the above mentioned goo like machine gun, undead pyscho that activate trans-am when too much lead got shaft into him without killing him, undead midget that can stun you with his leap, suicide zombie , frankenstein , werewolves, infected birdies, just to name a few.The amount of mini boss and boss ecounter got scripted more tightly to make this DLC a tighter experience then the original,so you wont get bored for too long killing small fry.
But sadly, the loot is the same old random stuff and boss drop items that isnt significantly different in stats nor look. There will be some nice conversations and audio tape that make you giggle abit but you probably get bored after listening to yourself spamming lead at a rate never before just to stay alive.Visually, its nice to release some stress in swampy forest , haunted hospital and abandoned factory.Although nothing is done to improve the graphics engine, the amount of enemy on screen can cause some frame drop on some older machine, and remember rule #36: Keep frame rate above 30 when you are being chased by zombies. =D
If you enjoy L4D survivor play style, with some RPG elements from borderlands, do check it out. Expect to see many more DLC for borderlands to come and i hope they maintain with such quality for future releases.
