Sick of games nowadays reduce the gore and violence to address wider audience and silent critics? Fear not, wolverine is here to the rescue. This game shortcoming is covered with blood and guts for a explosive violent ride you have been craving for.
I dont think wolverine needs any introduction is his imba regen and adamantium skeleton. This game gives you the chance to be this reckless character that you dont get elsewhere. Strategic planning? Flanking? Get cover when artillery start raining? No way, wolverine charge his way through. And his flesh start getting rip while doing that. Wolverine body reflect the type of punishment he gets accurately, sometimes exposing is adamantium skeleton, not only that, you get to see wolverine miracle regeneration in real time. See a group of heavily entrench african mercenary? No problem just lunge into the fray and let the guts, limbs and heads start falling. Best of all, the remains of the enemy doesnt disolve like resident evil 5 allowing you to see your masterpiece once you are done.No worry of the controls too, you can enjoy the carnage with the most complicated combo easily.
But whats fun with all the violence when you repeatedly kill the same enemy. This games enemy is so limited that theres is less than 20 variety of them. Count in less than 10 bosses present, that end up with about 30 enemy variety to tear apart. The game try to address this with lots of flashback, therefore meeting different enemies but most of them are just cosmetic different. The flashback also come so often that the story becomes disorientated and doesnt feel cohesive. Being tied to the motion picture, the plot is much thinner than the already average movie. Very often you will run into texture popping issues and dont expect to be amaze by the characters' design nor resolution.
A game you wouldnt want to miss if you like wolverine and the X-men universe or just simply violence, lots of it. If you fall into both catagory, good for you, this is the best game on offer to suit your appetite. Else, for the rest, its a unpolished version god of war style action game built under x men franchise.
