Overall-9/10
Photobucket

Win
-huge area
-comfortable enough as an arm rest
-do not slide around the table
Fail
-not suitable for laser mouse
-logo not printed well on the goliathus i recieve(doesnt really matter...)

The screeching seems to have reduced for my abyssuss but it seems to dislike my hard mat barracuda lite. Initially i thought its the abyssuss sensor faulty but tracking on my table doesnt seems to have an issue.
I m not a mouse pad fanatic that really cares about the glide, tactile feedback or whatever jargon used by the marketing people. I believed in a great mouse giving better returns in your investment than a high end mousepad. But with more space now for a larger mouse pad, and a chance of getting a oversized 355x444mm goliathus at 24SGD makes me decide on the purchase. The first thing i enjoy is the immense size and best of all it feels good for your arm to rest on it. So i put it in a horizontal manner and used half of the area as arm rest and the other for my mouse. For accuracy of tracking, its a improvement over the bare table i m temporary using but isnt really revolutionary experience over my previous mouse pad paired with a compatible mouse.
The version i got was the control while there is another speed model featured. Control have more friction and have more accurate tracking while speed is extremely smooth for 360 turn during FPS. Both feature anti glide bottom like most gaming surface do to prevent it from sliding around during intense gaming. Theres 3 sizes available, mines the largest while theres a standard size at 355x254mm and a mini at 270x215mm, all is identical in material and thickness. Goliathus is a soft mat so its comfortable to rest on as mentioned above but its not suitable for newer mouse employing laser tracking.Something troubling is the edge of the mouse pad is not reinforce so i suspect wear and tear may destroy the spongy pad. Since this is the first soft mat i m using, i will know the answer and start ranting if it happens sometime in the future.
24SGD for more comfortable right arm and larger mouse area? If you can find one at this price than sure why not,but the retail price is about SGD34 and at that price, you need deeper consideration on spending your money.
And btw i have no idea the difference between the goliathus alpha and goliathus... =]

Look at the size dood. Its HUGE!
