This gundam and its anime holds a special place during my childhood. Gundam W is my first contact with gundam franchise, more than 10 years ago. Watching on national TV channel with crappy chinese dub, its still amazing seeing these slick machines going around doing what they do best. My first gunpla is Deathscythe Hell, 1/144 TV version. You pretty much guessed my reaction when i hear news of its MG release.
This D-Hell is from the OVA version, Endless Waltz. Featuring over the top gundam designs, angel and batman flying blowing things apart is simply awesome. Although D-Hell weaponary is reduced to a pathetic beam scythe, it makes up for the slick look. If batman have a gundam, it would be D-Hell EW.
Main problem with this kit isnt with the looks, but with the construction. 3 out of 4 limbs are loose and require additional work. Especially bad is its leg, which require 3 layer of glue to tighten it. Building process isnt particularly fun since they come with various quirks and difficulty.
This kit recieves minimal makeover from its NG predecessor. Inner frame and increase articulation from standard MG treatment is there. Its major innovation and improvement is at its wings. The wings are not split into 3 segment, with the ability to extend and bend like never before. Since i m using ikea deltof, a fully extended wing does not fit. Not an issue since possibilty is endless with such flexible wings.
MG from gundam W series is noticeably smaller than other series. Lastly, this is the first MG with no broken parts during consturction. ^^V
