Isaac is back. He blasts. He burns. He stomps. He simply eats whatever the marker throws at him as breakfast. He is so strong, the marker pales in comparison.
All this imba skills come at a price. He now has mental problem. But the writers didnt flesh this aspect of the story properly. All he sees is a glowing girlfriend haunting him around, which is as lame as it sounds. Although he did converse with her in a "humanly" fashion in later part of the game, which is pretty disturbing. But story writers should make him kill some innocent people with his illness and deepen his guilt. I m seriously, thats the best scenario when you mix some imba killer survivor with mental illness. You are also thrusted into the chaos too quickly. Getting a tour around the uninfected station first would be much appreciated. And maybe throw in a physical manifestation of his girlfriend pregnant with more necromorphs sounds like fun too. Would be a great boss encounter too, you know, spawning necro babies at you while trying to tear your dick off.
Alright, enough whinning with the story. As mentioned, isaac isnt the wet his engineering suit noob you play in the first game. And this bad ass translate into a more action oriented horror game this time round. He recklessly charge into dangerous situation, which makes for great encounters. Even with all the killing and mental illnes, his engineering prowress is still intact and proved useful in many occasion of the game.
But sadly, hes still the lost puppy requiring some random people guiding him through comms. And its downright irritating being ushered from point A to B throughout the whole game.
As of any prequels, expect new environements and weapons to boot. Classic haunted house locations prove to be applicable to space horror genre too. Childcare centers and morgues have been nicely integrated into this space station horror genre.
Dead space 2 comes with multiplayer 2. No, it isnt some co-op horror we are expecting. Just some alien vs human deathmatch that is forgettable and totally detracts from dead space experience. Skip.
The core of Dead space 2 remains the same. Which isnt a bad thing, as minor cosmetic and gameplay improvements is added. What that is done right is so good, most could ignore its shortcomings. Definitely a must buy for horror fans.

Alright, chill bitch...
