Rainbow six Vegas

2nd game using the unreal 3 engine and is release by once great ubisoft, now a billsoft's xbox360 cork sucker. SOme improvement over the abyssal doomed title called splinter cell double agent. I did not take such a harsh stance in the original review because i played straight after a day 1 patch and since other than the bugs, i must admit it is a very nice game. After much wait, the 2nd patch is released and it did not fix the most basic graphics setting options, not to mention the horrid performance issues and a BODs.Yes, BODs on a stable computer running a unreal 2 engine modded with DX9 components like HDR and i am seriously not the only one. Other than BODs, u get crash to desktop and restart of computer making a overclocker like me doubt my system stability but in the end, realize is ubisoft rushing to port such a nice game in such indecent manner.
AS i said R6 vegas have some improvement although it is a game designed for xbox360 and ported directly to desktop.The performance for nvidia cards are generally worst than ATI since ATi has its silicon in xbox360.You don't have any sound options in the menu,frame rates will drop to 10+ for no reason and antialiasing cannot be switch on even with driver override.Another thing to note is the texture is rather inconsistant in resolution and sharpness, and the difference is very noticeable. The wall texture may look very nice even at close up, some friends of jihad maniacs blast a hole in the wall, the hole looks horrible with texure resolution lower than the original unreal 2 engine.Thats not all, the cars look so horrible that its the worst plastic cars rendered in SM3.0 history.Although i have my hope that the cars will look nicer or around the standard of NFS carbon since it is an unreal 3 afterall no matter how fuck up is the developer but it is really disappointing.Rendering every thing in the environment nicely with higher resolution high polygon and shader effects with incredibly detailed characters but you have stupid looking cars that is made in china toy factory bathing in hdr ligthing smoking in ruins.This is either a bug from porting from xbox360 or this game is just rushed.For the gameplay, bluring of my screen when you get hit is irritating the story feels kinda lame asking you to kill those same fuckers with different skin for no good reason.Not to mention the video live feed from your little bitch in the chopper sending you porn TV ads has worst quality than ingame scene.
This game also suffer from day 1 patches and hardcore multiplayer crashes and server browsing problem.Looks like it will be a popular trend already and thanks EA GAMES and DICE for this revolution of bad softwares.For graphic settings, 16x12 with scarific for shdows while blur quality,HDR and motion blur turn on, off for hardware skinning and vertical sync.Running all unreal 3.0 game at 12x9 with is very much assured,med-high setting depends on how well the game is optimised, in this case obviously it is severly not optimisied just like FSX from billsoft.
